Their first recording came out in 2003, when Doppelganger Records released their self-titled debut LP. The band's style was heavily influenced by 70's classic rock, similar to bands such as Wolfmother. The Cultured Pearls are a german band playing a mix of soul, rock, jazz, and funk, but also some trip-hop and country elements can be found in their songs.
