Goo Goo Dolls is an alternative rock band formed in 1985 in Buffalo, New York, USA by guitarist/vocalist John Rzeznik and bassist/vocalist Robby Takac initially under the name the Sex Maggots (the new name was chosen from an ad in True Detective magazine at the behest of a local club owner). They are most famous for the hit "Iris", featured on the soundtrack to the 1998 film City of Angels. Crazy Dolls is an alternative, synthpop and pop rock duo from Rīga, Latvia formed as electronic and punk rock trio around 1995 and during time have changed their musical flow. They have released two full length albums till split up in 2000. Latest of them LP Sveiciens published on Mapls in 2001 includes song Milžu cīņa of legendary Latvian band Dzeltenie Pastnieki. The New York Dolls are a rock group formed in New York City in 1971, now famous as a protopunk band. Though they found limited success during their initial run, the New York Dolls prefigured much of what was to come in the punk rock era, particularly among other NYC bands such as the Ramones. The Dolls began as a burlesque troupe based in Los Angeles, California, U.S., and expanded to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Mydolls began in 1978 in Houston, Texas with Dianna Ray and Trish Herrera writing a few songs together. Later Dianna and Trish were joined by Linda Bond/Younger and the three went in search of a drummer. After several attempts of working with drummers, Trish's cousin, George Reyes joined the band and the sound took off with his powerful connection to Dianna Ray's bass playing. This gave Trish and Linda a lot of room to play with their guitars in a very unconventional way.
