Kazooo has been working with electronic music since 1992/93. He started out as a DJ, later on he developed own material and tried to work out, how to present it in a live situation. Always searching for new ways of creating new, interesting sounds ("so, what happens, when I convert program files to .wav-files and feed them into my sampler ?"), it is of importance to him, to impress the audience with minimalistic means, multi-layered music consisting of few sounds. He claims to create music for living rooms as well as tracks that animate to dance, but never without warmth...
The Kazoo Funk Orchestra formed in Scotland at the end of 2005 as a pre-apocalyptic merry-go-round collective, featuring musicians, anti-poets, dancers and finger painters. Building their melodies at a DIY project studio in producer Ray McCartney’s living room, the band exchanged influences and took inspiration from various genres to create their eclectic mix-tape sound. In May 2006, the band released their 25-track debut album, Midnight Finger Painter, in which the first 500 copies included a unique finger painting created by fans and band members. Wah Kazoo is the product of a pub conversation going along the lines of "I wonder what a kazoo would sound like if it was put through a wah-wah pedal". .
