The Canadian outfit known as Blasphemy was formed in 1984 in Burnaby, BC.. They are known for creating a small sub-genre known as “war metal”. Each member does not go by their real name, but use ‘’ritual’‘-style titles instead. Blasphemy Rites was formed in 1997 by Ciosek (g./voc.), Menes (dr.), Brzozak (voc.) and Juszek (bass). From the begining they have totally underground fuck-off attitude - no website, no myspace profile. In the begining they recorded their debut demo with 20 minutes of obscure barbaric stuff including cover of one of their main influences - Sarcofago's "Christ Death". Other main influences are Blasphemy, Impaled Nazarene, Sarcofago, Darkthrone, Sabbat, Venom… In 2004 Maleficium Records released CD „Something Wicked, Raw & Ugly” which consisted demo and live recordings. Conceived in 1999, Aural Blasphemy is Joe Abrescia. Hailing from New York, Aural Blasphemy takes the typical and cliché sounds of rhythmic industrial into new territory while breaking new ground into familiar areas. Cold, oppressive atmospheres and spine tingling rhythms abound on Abrescia's masterpiece while letting the listener hear what beautiful torture sounds like.
