Haikara was a Finnish progressive rock band, formed in 1971. The band's original sound has been compared to bands such as King Crimson and Van der Graaf Generator and to some extent Tasavallan Presidentti. Haikara's first album, Haikara, came out in 1972, and it has since became a classic progressive rock album. Later on Vesa Lattunen, Haikara's heart and soul made several albums; Gaefar (1974), Iso Lintu (1976), Haikara IV: Domino (1998) and Tuhkamaa (2001) with various people playing the instruments, mainly Jan Schaper playing the sax and Tommi Mäkinen on the bass. Lattunen wrote, composed and sang all the...

The band’s debut EP “How We Got Along After The Yarn Bomb” was released on Team Strike Force! in August 2011. Their debut album “Tricolore” (tree-coe-lor) was released on March 11th by London based label How Does it Feel to be Loved preceded by a free download single “Los Elefantes” on 7th January. In these days of instant gratification and apathy, it's refreshing to see a band looking at things a little differently. Sitting somewhere between Folk-Rock and Indie-Pop, without slotting neatly in to either pigeonhole, The Haiku, proudly independent and fiercely original, refer to their musical creation as “Power Folk”. They have been around since 2006, and are constantly honing and improving their craft. Their line up, consisting of punk-folk acoustic guitar, vocals and drums (with a little piano thrown in for good measure) is certainly not your average indie-rock band and audiences are often taken by surprise at the intensity and...
Bram Tchaikovsky (born Peter Bramall on 10 November 1950 in Lincolnshire, England) is the lead singer and guitar player of an eponymous new wave / power pop band that has recorded three albums. A former member of rockers The Motors, Bram's group scored a U.S. Top 40 hit in the Billboard Hot 100 in 1979, with "Girl Of My Dreams." In the Netherlands "Sarah Smiles" was a minor hit, reaching the #33 spot, in February 1979. Both tracks were on the band's first album, titled 'Strange Man, Changed Man'. Unfortunately, the group seemed to have peaked too early, and their...
