Uw Hypotheekadvies is a trio formed in Nijmegen, The Netherlands in 2004. The lineup consisted of bassplayer Rob Mellink (Rob Deckermann) drummer Dries Mellink (Dries Deckermann) and guitarist Martin Luiten (Martin Deckermann) Uw Hypotheekadvies (‘your mortgage advice’) evolved partly out of legendary dutch band Girlfriends (also at Beta-lactam Ring Records). Uw Hypotheekadvies aims to have a fresh, open approach towards making music. Influences are diverse like krautrock, no wave, Albert Ayler, Beefheart, Deerhoof, ethnic field-recordings… The core of the music is interaction. Improvisation is a means but not necessarily an end.
