Born: France The noted French harpsichordist, Blandine Verlet, studied with Ruggero Gerlin and Ralph Kirkpatrick. Blandine Verlet began recording in the late 1970's for Philips, switching to the Astrée label in the 1990's. Her recordings range from J.S. Bach's keyboard works to Froberger to lesser known composers such as Louis Couperin and Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre. Her second recording of the Goldberg Variations (BWV 988), in 1992, has been called "one of the finest harpsichord versions in the catalog." Born: France The French harpsichordist, Blandine Rannou, is the outcome of a training started with 3 first prizes (harpsichord, basso continuo, chamber music) at the Paris National Superior Conservatorium where she teaches currently basso continuo, with a training at the Sweelink Conservatory in Amsterdam with Bob van Asperen, and the prize in 1992 of the International Harpsichord Competition in Bruges; she was also awarded the RTB prize and the jury's special prize.
