Cristian Castro (born Cristian Sáenz Castro, December 8, 1974, in Mexico City) is a Grammy Award-nominated Mexican pop singer. He is also known as "Christian Castro", "Cristian", or "El Gallito Feliz" (The Happy Little Rooster). Castro added the "h" to his first name for the release of his successful album, "Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor" in 1999. "Christian Castro," however, is still not widely used as "Cristian Castro," and Castro actually went back to using "Cristian" on his albums until 2004. Castro released "Azul" in 2001, and won the "Best Latin Pop Album of the Year" award. Castro married Paraguayan,...
Cristi Cons has 14 years of cello practice to back up his 4/4 musical constructs. His passion for acoustic timbres led him to try and find connections between the old and dusted beauty of classical instruments and the melodic groove of modern day deep house. Raw warmth is the result, slowly buried under his percussive rhythms. Cristi Cons’s beats have a tendency to sting when you least expect it, setting off party after party into an organic dancing groove. Layered deepness and repetitive maneuvers in the dark warp his music and you’re getting busy dancing to the sound. Although he...
Josephine "Yeng" Constantino, born on December 4, 1988, is a Filipina singer and host. Yeng won the title of "Grand Star Dreamer" in Pinoy Dream Academy, the Philippine edition of Endemol's reality TV show Star Academy. After winning the said title, Star Records launched Yeng's debut album entitled "Salamat", containing 10 songs, of which 7 were Yeng's original compositions. Her album reached "Gold" two weeks after its release and was later certified "Platinum" after a month, followed by a "3x Platinum" certification after several months of release. When Star Records saw the undeniable potential of the preppy-rocker, they instantly produced...
Cristina Monet was born into opulence and wealth, attending Harvard and London's School of Drama, floating freely between flats in London, Paris and New York City. In 1978, while working at a theater critic for the Village Voice, she met her future husband and founder of Ze Records Michael Zelkha. Zelkha was itching to get into the NYC underground punk/disco scenes, so they recorded a single called "Disco Clone," an incisive, if irritating satire of disco culture for which they enlisted the production talents of John Cale and hilariously corny vocal narration by actor Kevin Kline. Thankfully, the music improved...
Consumer Electronics is a power electronics band formed in 1982 by UK-based noise artist Philip Best at age 14. Best later went on to join the noise group Whitehouse, and Consumer Electronics subsequently became inactive. It was revived briefly during the 90s for a collaboration with Merzbow, and after Best left Whitehouse in 2008 he has once again started making music as Consumer Electronics, this time with help from Gary Mundy, previous bandmate of Best from Ramleh and Male Rape Group, and Mattin. .
