Kalle Kalima, born 1973, Finland, is a Guitarist and composer. His own groups, the Kalima Trio (Lasse Lindgren on bass, Mika Kallio on drums, Kalima on guitar) and Nuijamiehet (as before, but with the addition of saxophonist Mikko Innanen) both came up with a fascinating album in 2000. While these discs are 100% noteworthy in their own right, aficionados of New European Guitar will be delighted to learn that the featured guest on the Kalima Trio album is French string guerrilla Marc Ducret. .

There are two bands called Klimax: a Finnish hardcore/punk band, and a Cuban timba band led by Giraldo Piloto. Giraldo Piloto's Klimax is one of the most sophisticated and original of Cuba's major timba bands. Descended from a line of famous Cuban musicians and composers, Piloto has been omnipresent throughout the first decade of timba history as a drummer, a songwriter and an arranger. Formed in 1980, Factory Records avant-funk band Swamp Children initially shared members with A Certain Ratio before mutating into acclaimed latin jazz contenders Kalima, releasing four albums between 1986 and 2002. Their music is a mixture of torch songs, latin jazz and bossa nova with Ann Quigley's vocals added. Their back catalog has been re-issued on LTM Records. Klima is the musical alias of velveteen-voiced Angèle David-Guillou. The Anglophone French chanteuse released her second album "Serenades & Serinettes" on the Second Language label in November 2010.
