Moderatto is a Mexican pop-rock group famous for their glamorous/ironic style of music. They began playing in the mid-nineties in Mexico City, as a parody of the glamorous style of many 80's bands like Poison and Mötley Crüe; it began as a side project to the members' original bands, but eventually became quite popular among members of the Mexican alternative scene. Moderat are Modeselektor and Apparat. Moderat's formation began back in 2002 in Berlin, Germany when Sascha Ring (aka Apparat) and Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary (aka Modeselektor) recorded an EP for the record label BPitch Control ("Auf Kosten der Gesundheit"). When it came time to begin working on an album, Moderat suddenly broke up. Meanwhile Modeselektor set a milestone in German music history with their sophomore album, Happy Birthday!, including musicians such as Puppetmastaz, Maximo Park and Thom Yorke. The Moderator, aka Klaas-Jan Jongsma, is one of Hollands most talented producers in the field of electronic dance music. He has a very personal, melodic and soulful style of music that combines the past with the future. Klaas-Jan caught on to electronic music at an early age, listening to a broad range of developing styles. It all started... ...sometime back in 1980 in the suburbs of Malmö in south of Sweden. In a small dusty room four guys are doing their best to play their instruments. Per on guitar and Fjalle screaming vocals...they call their band Moderat Likvidation Meanwhile in Malmö City bands like Hjärnsubstans and Black Uniforms are doing the very same.
