Masterminds is a New York rhyme team, comprised of Kimani, Epod & Oracle (former), a trio of rappers who met as students at Wesleyan University in 1994. Son's of 60's jazz, 70's soul, 80's pop, 90's hip-hop, and 00's indie rock. They've been friends since 1994. Put out the first 12" in 1996, and there last record in 2002. Took some time off to be alive, and now they're back. .
mastermind_xs is a two-friends-project (daniel stephan & heiko petry) from saarbrücken (germany). they are making music together since 11 years. first they've started as a band called "sheepshooters association", a reggae-psycho-rock´n´roll project with several other nice musicians…after failing to top any charts, they've found themselves playing some kind of punk-rock together with 2 friends as a band called "bagdad pussies"… 2 years ago they've finally started "mastermind xs", creating tune after tune rooting deep into dub, reggae, electro, drum´n´bass and many other influences. they are working with ableton live and different instruments, adding sitar, melodica and everything they are able...

One of the more promising late-era Merseybeat bands, the Masterminds never managed to translate their potential into serious record sales, although one of their members, Joey Molland, was destined for some international success less than a decade hence.
