Šaban Bajramović (1936-2008) was a Serbian gypsy musician and composer. Bajramović was born on 16th April 1936 in Niš, Serbia. He attended primary school for only the first four years. Burhan Šaban was born in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, then Yugoslavia and now resides and works in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey. At fourteen years old he mastered the Kur'an and became known as a hafiz, a title given to someone who is well versed in the sacred text. Throughout the years, he's developed his singing career, mainly in the religious Islamic songs called ilahije (ilahi in Turkish).
