Inició su carrera musical en 1985 cuando finalizó los estudios de bachillerato y se unió al grupo Cristal Oskuro en el que apenas estuvo siete meses. Después de esta primera experiencia entró a formar parte del grupo Olé Olé como vocalista sustituyendo a Vicky Larraz. His father was a respected percussionist in his native Venezuela, and taught Luisito through his adolescent years until the time he enrolled in the prestigious Orquesta Simfonica de Venezuela (The Symphonic Orchestra of Venezuela).
