The Applicants | tr

Pop 'n' roll trio Applicants were formed by Fidel Villeneuve, Paul Blades and Jeffrey James. Applicants make chaotic indie-pop comprising distorted drum loops, electric guitars, sound FX and vocals, the lyrics seeming relentlessly silly on the surface, but containing some depth if you look for it. Their blood-drenched live show has become infamous after gigs up and down the UK, including a headline slot at Frog. CD album 'Life In The Bus Lane' was released August 2008 by Tigertrap/Brainlove, featuring the previously released Brainlove Records vinyl singles. .
The Applicants were a late 80s/early 90s female fronted indiepop band from Coventry England. Part of the post C86 underground, they released a number of flexis, seven inch singles and compilation appearances on labels such as Windmill, Glut and Silver Girl. .
