The Lupins formed in 1990 by Stoley (Stoley P.T.), Lance Tawzer (ex-Material Issue), Johnny "Beitr" Furman (The Cells) and Jay Rayjeck (TRS-80) on the campus of Elmhurst College near Chicago, IL and were later joined by guitarist Jaison "Blast" Chasko (Suffrajett). They recorded their first demos with Jeff Murphy (Shoes, Material Issue) at Short Order Recorder in Zion, IL. The Lupins played small clubs and local college gigs until meeting up with The Drovers. The Remus Lupins is the SoCal-based Wizard Rock project of singer-songwriter Alex Carpenter, Tyler Nicholas and Toby Karlin, and part of a trend which was popularized by the Massachusetts-based band Harry and the Potters. The songs in this project are all in some way related to the Harry Potter series. Benoît Dorémus, born in Besançon on 20 May 1980, is a French singer-songwriter. Dorémus wrote his first pieces of poetry before the age of ten. He also began to learn to play the guitar. He spent his first years between Metz and Avignon to finally settle down in Paris at 21, after passing a cinematographic Performing Arts bachelor's degree in 2001, and finishing his first novel. He had his first concerts in 2003 within the very close Parisian fields.
