Lisede yarı profesyonel topluluklarla birlikte çaldı, fırsat buldukça dinletilerde aralarında Donald Byrd’in da bulunduğu cazcılara eşlik etti. Hancock 1961’de ilk kez New York’ta çalarken yanında yine Byrd vardı, onunla kendi küçük topluluğu adına kayıtlar yaptı.

Considered by many to be (together with his scriptwriters - Ray Galton & Alan Simpson, and producer Dennis Main-Wilson), the originator(s) of the British 'sitcom', his radio 'Half Hours', and later his output on television...

Joe Ely said it, Hank Williams III said it, Bobby Koefer from the Texas Playboys said it, as have countless music fans and writers when referring to Hancock's authentic and original blend of honky tonk, western swing, blues and big band that he calls "juke joint swing!" Authenticity and sincerity have been the cornerstones of Hancock's writing and...
Hancock Basement are Nick Beresford-Wylie, Nick Craven and Tom Spira, a veritable melting pot of slick grooves, disco rhythms and garage rocking riffs. Coming off the mean streets of Canberra, Australia, the band have cut their teeth with folks like The Sleepy Jackson, The Presets, Bit By Bats, Datarock, Digitalism and Batrider. They launched their self-titled EP in August 2006. With the band reaching out recently to play a string of buzzing shows in Melbourne and Sydney (including a slot at Rebel Rebel) as well as their debut festival appearance at the 2006 Stonefest extravaganza, the 'Cock are as slick...
