Northern Kings is a Melodic Metal supergroup of famous Finnish musicians, consisting of Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica) Marco Hietala (Nightwish, Tarot) J-P Leppäluoto (Charon) Jarkko Ahola (Teräsbetoni) Background singing by Aleksi Parviainen (Soulcage) The group is not an ordinary band, but a league of four vocalists, who are all frontmen of successful heavy metal bands. In 1982 the Northern Cree Singers were founded by Steve Wood, and his brothers Randy and Earl Wood. The group originates from the Saddle Lake Cree Nation but is made up of members from the Treaty 6 area, most notably the Frog Lake Cree Nation, Onion Lake Cree Nation, Samson Cree Nation, Louis Bull Cree Nation, and the Poundmaker Cree Nation. The Northern Pikes began their career in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in early 1984. Over the next two years, the band recorded and released the independent EPs 'The Northern Pikes' and 'Scene In North America' with producer and pal Mitch Barnett. Both were recorded and mixed at Studio West in Saskatoon.
