Empyr is a French rock band created in 2007. The 5 members are Benoît Poher (vocals) & Florian Dubos (guitar) from Kyo, Benoît Juillard (bass) from Pleymo, Fred Duquesne (guitar) from Watcha & Jocelyn Moze (drums), formerly from Vegastar. They chose to sing in English, for the international market. Their debut album The Peaceful Riot, recorded in Los Angeles & produced by Ken Andrews, came out on May 12, 2008, including the single "New Day". In 2002, Empyrean Plague began to take form in the vast forests of the Canadian North. Influenced by the harsh northern winters, founding members and guitarists Turmoil and Pawn, began crafting their ruthless, yet melodious sound. Soon after, they sought out others of like mind, enlisting drummer Treachery and recruiting bassist Dertah (Vanquished) to begin work on their first demo. Upon completion, Dertah returned to Vanquished as E.P. began the quest for a permanent bassist. After some time they came upon their missing link, a lost spirit by the name of Unborn. Formed in Illinois, USA in 1997. Empyrean Sky makes a very interesting, unique brand of music they label "stormcore". While in a true progressive death metal style, Empyrean Sky is more similar to Disillusion than Opeth. Empyrean Sky released the Temptations demo in 2000, and their first full-length, The Snow White Rose of Paradise, was released in 2004.
