Recoil is the project of Alan Wilder, formerly a member of Depeche Mode. Born on 1st June 1959 in London, England, he is a classically-trained musician and renowned contemporary music producer. Formed in 2003 in Ieper, Belgium, FATAL RECOIL combines the technique of Death Metal music and the agressiveness and energy of Hardcore Music. Early 2005, they entered Studio 13 to begin recording a demo-cd which sold out in no time. So in the Fall of 2006 the band recorded their debut Mini-cd “Malicious” at the infamous CCR studio with producer Kris Belaen (ABORTED, CRIMSON FALLS, LENG TCH’E,…). Recoilers are long-time students in the school of rock. Over the years, the band has thrown ample amounts of ingredients into its sonic melting pot of influences, ranging from the Beach Boys to Sonic Youth. The result is loud guitar-heavy stop-start riffs complemented with a strong sense of catchy melodies and harmonies. In 2001, the trio teamed up with Kelp Records to debut the six-song album, For Decoration Only.
