Sadao Watanabe (渡辺貞夫) is Japan's most famous saxophone player. Born February 1st, 1933, in Utsunomiya in the Tochigi prefecture of Japan, Watanabe began playing the alto sax after moving to Tokyo at the age of 18. He went on to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston from 1962 to 1965. He plays both alto and soprano saxophone, and has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Chico Hamilton, Gary Peacock, Chic Corea and Kikuchi Masabumi. The Watanabes are an international indie pop band performing and recording in Tokyo. They enjoy drinking banana juice together and are keen students of Ikebana. Masaji Watanabe (渡辺雅二) is a Japanese pianist and composer. Born in Tokyo, 1957. Mr. Watanabe graduated from the Toho Gakuen School of Music Piano Department. He participated in Kitaro's Asian tour as a keyboard player in 1984. Since then, he has been working on stages and in studios as a player focusing on the synthesizer. He has released albums as a member of R.E.M. SWIMMING CLUB BAND from 1989.
