reSet Sakrecoer | ar

reSet Sakrecoer is the surname of Swedish/Swiss man Set Hallstrom, when he produces and performs most of his music. This ordinary man with superdreams is a talented paperboard programmer and also known as the founder of the "prestidigital music technologies" (.pdigi).

He explores any style that can be electronicaly produced and mixes them with ideas such as the ancient art of illusionism and modern digital music production.

Producing computer-based beats of all kind since 2002 and singing, this young man made his first step on the stage as an eight year old drummer in a rock band. Punk-rock was the interest, but nor really the reality. After singing and drumming on "back in the U.S.S.R." and "glass onion" of the Beatles, he definitely dropped the sticks for the vocals. Unfortunately, they where also dropped at the discovery of hip hop culture that turned graffiti into the biggest thing in the world and rock'n'roll into a lame flip. But it all lasted from 1988-97 with allot of gigs and some meaningless recordings.

Spending 96-97 in sweden, the hell of winter turned his computer into a best friend. Fasttracker II, a computer based music seqeuncer was fun but never ran on his soundcardless computer. Still the phantasm of it remained; his computer could become a studio in a near future!

« Eaten up by the graffiti game, music was forgotten and design studies where begun. I needed a powerbook G4. Knowing i had got one, Kid Rolex a childhoody, calls me and says: "man... i got this software here, but no computer, can we try it on yours?". This was my Reason to get it all started again... » and mister Sakrécör was born.

Passionately diving into the world of virtual synths, the first tracks where very dubby and the main ideas where midi realtime control based. But after doing a gig as opening show for James Daelek, a French rapper in Martigny, he quickly got bored by the laptop based show.

« Meeting Debra Swann and Craig Fisher made it all happen artistically for me. After seeing Craig's fake electronic equipment and weapons in neoprene and sequences, the crazy costumes etc... and being mentored in my design studies by his mature advices, we had spoke about setting up the release party show of my first LP "Santas Audioserver" along with Debra. Thank to Villamagica Records, this took place in an art gallery called the "Centre d'Art Contemporain de Genève" in Geneva, which is quite a great and hot spot, and i really wanted to do something different then a concert. The idea was that i would come up to London where Craig and Debra where and we would build fancy noble synths together for a performance where i'll play back my music on them... ».

But time and fate made it different: no london trip! no fancy textiles! So he had to make those synths differently and set the show on his own.

« Crashbeat and Inti helped me build some synths for the first serie, the one of the CAC. And when i got fedback from the concert, i realized most people where very intrieged by the machines. "Do they make sound or not?" I had set up a magician show! Mixing digitally produced music in an illusionist set. » It was set and ready to evolve. The Prestidigtal Shows saw the spotlight for the first time.

Having evolved through many different music styles, today his focus is the show. Producing in a very large and various soundscape of genres, building new machines, costumes and show concepts, his aim is to entertain the crowd with bouncing sound on demand. From Dub to Punk-rock, through house and Rap. No matter what you like, if it's likable, Sakrécör can play it!
