Zonderhoof are based in South Wales. Their music is mostly instrumental and has been described as hybrid of sludge, doom metal and stoner rock. Their latest album 'Hakken!' was released by Undergroove Records in September 2011 and was also included as a free CD with issue #214 of Terrorizer magazine in the UK. They first released their 3 track demo in 2006 which led to the release of their debut EP/Mini album 'Zonderhoof' on Sound Devastation Records in 2007. Manfred Schoof (6 April 1936 Magdeburg) is a German jazz trumpet player. He studied music in Kassel and Cologne. He is a founder of European free jazz and collaborated with Albert Mangelsdorff, Peter Brötzmann, Mal Waldron, and Irène Schweizer. He is an interpreter of the works (Die Soldaten) of the contemporary composer Bernd Alois Zimmermann. Schoof won various jazz prices and is involved in the German musical rights association. He is professor in Cologne since 1990. .

Cloven Hoof burst onto the NWOBHM scene with quite some flair, featuring outlandish stage costumes (heavy Kiss- style makeup, futuristic-looking clothing), and bearing the stage names of Air (Lee Payne), Water (David Potter), Fire (Steve Rounds), and Earth (Kevin Poutney). The music (on their debut EP) was well received, bearing a heavy, dark NWOBHM sound with a slightly spacey feel to it. Despite the initial good press and music, the buzz surrounding the band faded relatively quickly, though they stuck around long enough to record several albums, the latter ones with an largely revamped lineup.
