Matthew Bower and Marcia Bassett. Hototogisu, like Double Leopards and Skullflower before them, may have stumbled upon the perfect sound of total oblivion. Bower and Bassett drag the quantum chaos from the cells of their brains to the strings of their guitars, bringing along all of their acid-burnt nightmares. Full to the brim with drone and atmosphere, it really pushes the listener beyond normal consciousness and into something more zen. Earlier recordings are very similar to Bower's work in Sunroof!. There are at least six bands by the name of Prototype: 1) Prototype is a progressive metal/thrash metal band, with at least two of its members from Los Angeles. In 1994, Kragen Lum (guitar) and Vince Levalois (vocals, guitar) left the LA band "Psychosis", and decided to form a new band, Prototype.
