"Chromosomos" are an instrumental band that goes beyond the boundaries of jazz, ethnic music, jungle or progressive rock. It was set up in 1999 by drummer Artur Dominik, who has been involved in projects in the alternative, rock and jazz scenes and who has cooperated, in a number of folk groups, with musicians of African, Jewish and Balkan origin. Somos is a four-piece band formed in July 2012 and hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. They're currently signed to Tiny Engines, who will be releasing their debut album, Temple of Plenty, on March 25th. Somos are as no-frills and trend-averse as it gets. The Boston band works in catchy, passionate three-minute rock songs recorded with too much punch to be lo-fi, too melodically contoured to be punk.
