SARINA was born in Tokyo and grew up in a musical environment, studying violin and piano since age five. She received formal training at the Toho High School of Music , under the tutelage of renowned japanese violinist Toshiya Eto. After graduating from Toho High School, SARINA was accepted at Berklee College of Music with a large Scholarship. Her studies at Berklee exposed her to a very fertile Jazz and Rock environment. She graduated with Honors.

While at Berklee, SARINA was the lead violinist, arranger and composer for the innovative string and turntable ensemble MystiQuintet(formerly known as Mystiq). MystiQuintet made their debut performance at the Berklee Performance Center in February 2002. Three years later, their performance resume includes a variety of events both in the States and internationally such as Boston Equinox Jazz Music Festival, the Emergenza Rock Concert and a ten event tour of Athens, Greece. MystiQuintet has also co-headlined shows with renowned hip-hop acts such as the Xecutioners and Rahzel, and have appeared on CBS Early Morning Show. In December 2004, MystiQuintet performed in Houston, Texas with 50-piece Orchestra X and portrayed their own stylistic reinterpretation of DvoraK Opus. 104.

SARINA also performs regularly with progressive rock band Jon Finn Group in Boston and has been an active session musician in Boston an New York ever since her arrival in the States. In 2003 she had the pleasure of performing with Jazz legends Charlie Haden, Kenny Barron and Michael Brecker at the JVC Jazz Festival in Carnegie Hall, New York.
