The Premier | en

There are two band with the name The Premier.

1) The first broke up in January of 2007.

On the inside of The Premier's debut release, The Live Like You're Dying EP, underneath the thank-you's and accreditations, we wrote one sentence. One sentence that encapsulates the entire message of the CD. Knowing what its like to be on the fringes of life and unsure about who you are or why you're here, we wrote: "If you're not doing what it takes to wake up happy, why are you waking up?"

So, we're The Premier from Hatfield, PA and we've come to realize what makes us happy. We play a thoughtful brand of pop-rock with a progressive twist. Yea, its catchy, but its also more complicated than a rubix cube (The original one-- not those six-sided ones. Those things are fucking insane.) We have our goals set and we're out to reach them. In the past year, we have accomplished more than we ever thought we could. We recorded and released a six-song EP. We've done three tours spanning the entire east coast and are planning several more for the fall and winter. We have reached over 10,000 plays on Purevolume and over 6,000 on myspace with no official promotion. We were chosen by absolutepunk.net as one of the top unsigned artists in the country. We've played some of the biggest venues on the east coast with some of the biggest local and national acts around today. And no, it's not all glitz and glamour. And yea, we've spent some nights sleeping in parking lots. We've eaten cold spaghetti out of the can to save money. We've driven hours in the rain with no windshield wipers. We've been sick, broken and battered, but you know what, to us, it's perfect.

2) The second band is an indie-acoustic duo from Lewistown, Montana.

The Premier is:
Matt Hassler-Guitar, Vocals
Garth Heser-Guitar, Vocals

The band started out as two guys, wanting to perform their own music, their own way. It just happened that they now perform each other's sad (and some happy too), almost soulful music together. It is long been compared to the modern day Simon and Garfunkel. Garth started his musical career in a punk band called "The Union" playing percussion and vocals. Matt started in "The Peeping Giles" playing guitar and vocals. After the two bands split, the two latter members decided to seek a new venue. They started to independently write acoustic songs with lyrics and harmonies unlike anything else. After a few songs had come together, they combined their work and wrote their original pieces for two performers. Thus, "The Premier" was born. .
