Hancock Basement are Nick Beresford-Wylie, Nick Craven and Tom Spira, a veritable melting pot of slick grooves, disco rhythms and garage rocking riffs. Coming off the mean streets of Canberra, Australia, the band have cut their teeth with folks like The Sleepy Jackson, The Presets, Bit By Bats, Datarock, Digitalism and Batrider. They launched their self-titled EP in August 2006. With the band reaching out recently to play a string of buzzing shows in Melbourne and Sydney (including a slot at Rebel Rebel) as well as their debut festival appearance at the 2006 Stonefest extravaganza, the 'Cock are as slick as ever. And although there is a brief hiatus to be had over the Australian summer, expect these three boys to be return in 2007 with their arsenal of new-wavieness more stocked than ever.

FUN FACTS FOR THE KIDS:
- Nick Craven has allegedly been approached to work with up and coming MC's/Beatsmiths D'Opus and Roshambo. Keep yer eyes peeled...whatever that means.
- Tom Spira was once a rising star on the hair modelling circuit. He dreams of those hazy days when he's not banging snares or DJing under his Loveless alias.
- Nick Beresford-Wylie is the versatile all-rounder - the agile one, the nimble one, the Jonte Rhodes if you will - of the band. The glue. So far he's not only the main axe-man of the 'Cock, but he's also been known to man a big electrified piano and even bust out a whistlin' sax solo for crowd favourite Balthezar.
