INTENTIONS are an independent band from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. They nominally had the idea of forming the band in mid-2008 at a Mint Chicks/Talons show and solidified their line-up in February of 2009.

In the following months they’ve played shows in the Sydney DIY scene supporting bands like To The North, La Dispute, Daniel Striped Tiger, La Dispute, Bare Arms and Hira Hira. We played in warehouses, an art gallery, a record shop (RIP Paint It Black), an anarchist bookshop, a Croatian bowlo, a multi-storey car park, a community hall and three different sharehouses. They played activist fundraisers, hardcore shows and possibly the most awkward 30th birthday party ever held.

In June 2009 they recorded a three song demo with students at North Sydney TAFE. One song from that demo, Abdicate, received multiple spins on Triple J’s short.fast.loud and Home And Hosed programs as well as airplay on Sydney community radio stations FBi and 2SER.

In 2010 the band plans to record an EP and tour the east coast with their friends.
