Joy Division war eine britische Postpunk-Band, die sich im Jahre 1977 zunächst unter dem Namen Warsaw in Manchester zusammenfand. Der spätere Name Joy Division leitete sich von der Bezeichnung für Zwangsprostituierte der deutschen Wehrmacht ab, die im Roman The House of Dolls des ehemaligen KZ-Häftlings Yehiel Feiner (erschienen unter seiner KZ-Registriernummer Ka-Tzetnik 135633) beschrieben werden. Joy Division waren eine der wichtigsten Bands, die sich auf dem Höhepunkt der Punk-Bewegung gründeten. Amphibious Assault began when 17-year-old, former Kittie guitarist, Fallon Bowman was on a plane from Ontario to New Jersey, skimming through a Tom Clancy novel when she came upon the term amphibious assault. Bowman, who had entertained thoughts of a new musical project, thought the term would be a great name for an industrial band. Bowman would go on to record several tracks with Pigface for the band's 2003 album, Easy Listening. Her enjoyment of the recording experience, led her to begin writing music again. Sonic Division is a project of two electro freestyle music producers from Poland. Damian Politanski (eXtatic) and Maciej Gapys (mAKuSh1no) have been composing this type of music for about five years (since 2002).
