Lola Flores nació en el barrio gitano de San Miguel, en Jerez de la Frontera, en la provincia de Cádiz, concretamente en el número 45 de la calle Sol. Siendo niña ya bailaba y cantaba en la taberna que tenía su padre, Pedro Flores, conocido como el Comino, y antes de los doce años ya era reconocida como bailaora en los ambientes artísticos jerezanos. Entonces cantaba canciones de Concha Piquer y de Estrellita Castro, siendo esta última un gran ídolo de Lola.
