Godsmack es una banda de Hard Rock/Heavy Metal formada en 1995 y originaria de Boston, Massachusetts (Estados Unidos). El nombre de la banda, tal y como comenta Merrill en el dvd Smack This!, fue tomado de la canción "God Smack" de Alice in Chains. Aún así, el vocalista de Godsmack, Sully Erna, matizó el origen real del nombre: "Sucedió en un ensayo cuando nuestro baterista llegó con herpes. Smack fué un grupo finlandés, que duró de 1982 a 1990. La banda original estaba compuesta por el cantante Claude, guitarristas Kartsa y Manchuria, el bajista Chery y el bateria Kinde. Four piece brutal oi punk band from Hertfordshire, UK. Formed in 2004. Their first album was recorded in 2005 and was followed by a split in the band until they were booked, by popular demand, to play a local charity festival in 2011 called 'Balstock'. Smackos is one of the aliases under which Danny Blanco (of Legowelt fame) releases his music.
