Joaquim Barreiros, better known as Quim Barreiros, was born in Vila Praia de Âncora in the north of Portugal. He is a popular Portuguese songwriter-singer. Most of his lyrics are composed with metaphors and ambiguous words about sexual suggestions, making him an icon of the pimba genre. Sporting a thirty-year-old career, he is now one of the biggest folk singers of Portuguese, having released countless song hits and more than twenty albums. His most recent album is "Use Álcool". .

Vitor Joaquim, laptop experimentalist, sound and visual artist, graduated in Sound and Film Studies. Started performing improvised music and working with contemporary dance by the late 80's. Since then, he has created extensively for dance, theatre, video, installations and cross media platforms, having worked with such collectives and creators as Vera Mantero, Paulo Ribeiro and Rui Horta, amongst many others. Quimby has its root in one of the biggest industrial cities of western Hungary. The band members met during their high school years in Dunaújváros, Hungary at the end of the eighties and played covers of their favorite artists under the moniker October. After they fled from the city and the school, the band went on a short term hiatus until 1991 when they reunited in Budapest, where Quimby actually formed.
