Musical style given form through various hybrids between black metal and dark ambient music, often has a tendency to lean towards the one or the other. May consist of dark ambient using black metal æsthetics such as screams, distorted guitar noise, and rhasps or black metal tracks with a more ambient touch which generally also incorporate ambient minimalism and lack of linear structure and concepts about nature, space, trance and landscapes; also a combination of these two. Like its sister genre 'depressive black metal' shares the key influence of the album 'Filosofem' and also often features prominent monotony of more mid-paced and longer tracks. .
