Erika Stucky (* 1962 in San Francisco) is a Swiss jazz singer, harmonica and tuba player and cabaret performer. In the 1970ies the Stucky family moved to a little town in Oberwallis. Switzerland. Shocked by the cultural change Erika Stucky quickly developed her own mixture of a Swiss-American-Feel-Of-Life. Her musical influences ranegd from The Monkees, Nancy Sinatra and Donovan to D‘Bossbuebe, Trio Eugster, and "Jodelchöre". She went to Drama-School and completed a Jazz-School and Actors Diploma in Paris, France. From 1985 to 1991 her first band was the a-capella and bass formation The Sophisticrats with three other lady-singers and a bassplayer. They recorded two CDs, played about 500 Concerts all over Europe and Afrika, and had many TV- Appearences. In 1991 she and Marco Raoult formed the band Bubble-Town, until today her favorite Family-Band. They recorded the CD „Outländish“ . In 1994 Erika Stucky met George Gruntz at a Big Band-Workshop in Basel, and instantly went on tour with him and the George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band. In 1997 she formed the trio Mrs. Bubble & Bones, consisting of two horns and one voice. In the following years she formed and went on tour in Europe and the US with several other projects like Girl-Group, Sina & Stucky, Low Life, Jimi Hendrix Project, Roots of Communication, HonkyStonky and many others. She also played Ginger in CARLA BLEY's opera "Escalator over the Hill".
