Hatifnats is an alternative rock band created at the turn of 2006-2007 on Chlodna street in Warsaw. This three-musician band made their debut in April 2007. Even though they have been playing only for a year, they have considerably changed the Polish indie scene. The first songs recorded and released in March 2007 were widely praised by the critics and journalists such as Piotr Stelmach, Anna Gacek, Angelika Kucinska and Bartek Chacinski.

A few months after the band's first performance, chosen from a vast group of competitors, Hatifnats entered the last stage of the "My Stage Off" competition. As a result, they were invited to play on the OFF FESTIVAL's main stage in Myslowice, Poland. Artur Rojek - the leader of the cult Polish band Myslovitz and the director of the festival said: "The more I listen to them the deeper I fall into their music". At that time the song "Mathematix" was placed on the compilation album "Offesywa II" presented by Piotr Stelmach and issued by Polish Radio. At the beginning of this year the group won some awards such as "The hope of 2008" and "The discovery of 2007" consecutively acknowledged by Polish Radio and the Pulp magazine and played an exlusive gig in Agnieszka Osiecka Studio together with bands Muchy and Cool Kids of Death.

Hatifnats create mysterious and colourful compositions. But what makes their music exceptional, however, is spacious sounds of the guitar and tuneful high-pitched voice of the vocalist Michal Pydo who is supported by the expressively playing drummer Mariusz Lesniewski and the bass player Adam Jedynak. Rafal Rejowski, of Machina magazine wrote: "Belive me or not, but it seems to me that they are going to set standards of what is trendy, at the forefront of an eventual shoegaze reactivation in Britain".
