Une expérience sonique qu’on avait rarement entendue depuis My Bloody Valentine. Une écriture folk originale, fine et loin de l’image première qu’elle pourrait donner, si à la première écoute cette compilation de 5 années de travail pourrait faire penser à Radiohead, une écoute attentive plonge l’auditeur dans un réel univers, totalement original et passionnant

Leur dernière apparition à Toronto pour la présentation de l’écurie Ocean Music au Canada en Septembre 2005 a plongé les auditeurs dans un abyme sonique, une sorte de plongée en apnée dans un monde en cinémascope d’une beauté éclairée empruntant des chemins détournés, une guitare acoustique, parfois altérée accompagne la voix de Jonathan Relph, leader du groupe à partir duquel s’articule Chris Stringer (Claviers), et d’autres invités tels Stu Livingstone (Membre de A Northern Chorus) jouant de son archer pour tirer des larmes de sa guitare électrique ou Barzin au xylophone.

« Work » est une compilation des 4 eps et de l’album sortis en catimini sur la scène de Toronto. Un ep 7 titres intitulé « You are so strong you turn me into mush » est déjà en prévision pour l’année 2006, telle une porte ouverte sur un monde sous terrain et suburbain.

On ne saura rien de plus du groupe, secret, caché, on ne saura rien non plus du célèbre producteur canadien derrière leur premier album offert gracieusement à la sortie des concerts. Ils ont choisi le label français Ocean Music pour leur présentation au monde, telle une révélation.

Depuis le groupe est en sommeil ou attend patiemment une nouvelle fulgurance.



Canadian trio Junetile meld the sonic expansiveness of prototypical shoegazers My Bloody Valentine with a delicate and original folk songwriting style, creating a unique musical universe that is both intimate and immense.

The new album ‘Work’ is compilation of four previous EPs (‘Going Nowhere’, ‘Small’ , Bearer Of Bad News’, ‘You Are So Strong You Turn Me Into Mush’) and a self-released album (‘All Things [Un]Clear’) that the band circulated amongst friends and handed out for free at concerts.

At the band’s Toronto appearance in September 2005 presented by the Ocean Music team Junetile plunged the audience into a kind of sonic abyss, a cinemascopic world of sound and texture, songs following circuitous paths and unfolding in unexpected directions.

For this performance singer and band-leader Jonathan Relph’s voice and frequently effected acoustic guitar fronted a band comprising Chris Stringer (keyboards), Stu Livingstone (bowed guitar, also a member of A Northern Chorus) and Barzin (xylophone).

Aside from these few scant facts and details, little else is known about this publicity shy and idiosyncratic group aside from the story of a famous Canadian producer who worked on their aforementioned debut album.

Stepping out of the shadows, Junetile have chosen the French label Ocean Music to introduce their music to the world.
