The Victorian English Gentlemens Club is an indie rock band which formed in 2004 in Cardiff, Wales. The band currently consists of Adam Taylor (vocals, guitar), Louise Mason (vocals, bass), Heddwyn Davies (viola, mandolin) and James Griffiths (drums). The band has released three albums, "The Victorian English Gentlemens Club" (2006), "Love on an Oil Rig" (2009), and "Bag of Meat" (2011). The band was formed by Taylor, Mason, and drummer Emma Daman, and released their initial singles and first two albums with this lineup. The Denver Gentlemen formed in the 1988 and ended in the mid 90s. In those years the band featured David Edwards of 16 Horsepower and Woven Hand and at different times also Slim Cessna and Frank Hauser Jr of Slim Cessna's Auto Club. Jeffery-Paul, the man behind the Gents, also played in 16 Horsepower and many of the songs on Low Estate were once Denver Gentlemen songs.
