The Mugwumps were a short-lived New York rock group active in the mid-60s. Formed in 1964, they are principally remembered for what its members did after they split up. Members Mama Cass Elliot and Denny Doherty would become one-half of the Mamas and the Papas. Zal Yanovsky would join the Lovin' Spoonful.
