Neoclassical black metal is a style of black metal that is heavily influenced by classical music. It refers to the technical performance of neo-classical metal, consisting of elements borrowed from classical/baroque, and fuses it with black metal that is usually melodic and/or progressive in nature. It differs from symphonic black metal in that the classical influence is noted in the riffs and arrangements, rather than merely using symphonic elements as accompaniment to otherwise standard metal riffing. .
