Patrice Rushen (born Patrice Louise Rushen, September 30, 1954, Los Angeles, California)[1] is a Grammy Award-winning American R&B and jazz vocalist, composer and pianist.

Rushen was the elder of two daughters born to Allen Rushen and the former Ruth Harris.[1] She demonstrated her musical potential at a young age; she was regarded as a child prodigy. In her teens, she won the prestigious 1972 Monterey Jazz Festival.[clarification needed] She earned a degree in music from the University of Southern California. As a mature woman, she became a jazz master[citation needed] and top musical director.[citation needed]

Patrice si è fatto un nome in Francia esibendosi al Inrocktupile Festival. Il suo stile è un mix di hip-hop, soul, reggae e folk bilanciati in un inglese e dialetto della Giamaica/Sierra Leone. Debuttò nel 1988 con una cover di "Lions” di Marley. .
Gli Heraldry nascono nel 1995. Il background dei membri del gruppo è simile e deriva da band come Iron Maiden, Helloween, Yes e Asia. Nel corso degli anni il gruppo si è creato un ottimo seguito di fans grazie all’intensa attività live in giro per l’Italia. La prima registrazione risale al 1995 con l’uscita del demo tape The Fortune Teller considerato un "capolavoro del metal underground" da alcune fanzines specializzate. Nel 2003 esce il primo disco ufficiale per l’etichetta Northwind records, Shadows of Ancient Skies le cui 5000 copie della prima tiratura sono andate esaurite nel primo anno di vendita....
