Deathstep is an ambiguous term that is loosely used to refer to any artist or band that combines elements of varying 2-step styles (eg: dubstep) with elements of varying death metal styles (eg: deathcore).
The term is used loosely as there has been no precedent for how artists utilise these varying musical attributes, and so the overall collective of artists is somewhat diverse, offering a collage of musical inteprettations with roots in varying styles. .
