Amiri Baraka is an influential American poet, dramatist and music critic. Known for his outspoken political activism, he may be best remembered for his controversial tenure as Poet Laureate of New Jersey. Important writings include Preface to a Twenty Volume Suicide Note (1961) and Blues People: Negro Music in White America (1963), which remains one of the most influential volumes of jazz criticism. Steve Barakatt was born on May 17, 1973 into a family of music lovers. When he was only four, Steve fell under the spell of music and began piano lessons. Over the next 10 years he studied classical music, and then switched to jazz.
Steve enjoyed many challenging musical experiences from an early age, including that of guest soloist with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra when he was only 13.
When he was 16 Steve became fascinated by composition, arranging and production.

Abdel Aziz El Mubarak (Arabic: عبد العزيز المبارك ) is a popular Sudanese singer. He was born in Wad Medani, Sudan in 1951. He is known for leading a large band whose music is based on traditional Arab music but also is influenced by reggae and American r&b. In addition to releasing many cassette recordings in Sudan and playing many weddings and other gigs in Sudan, he and his band have also recorded several CDs for the European and American market and have toured internationally. He also sometimes performs solo accompanying himself on the oud. .
