Aunque nacido en Barcelona, Nacho Mastretta se considera cántabro, pues se trasladó de muy niño a Santander donde terminó la carrera de piano en el Conservatorio Jesús de Monasterio de Santander. Su primer proyecto musical se denominó Las manos de Orlac, un grupo formado en 1987 que tocaba una mezcla de pop y música caribeña, donde cantaba e interpretaba infinidad de instrumentos. Con este grupo llegó a grabar dos álbumes, La Furia (1988) y Salud y pesetas (1989). Se instaló en Madrid en el año 1991 y desde 1992 hasta 1999 ejerció de técnico de sonido en la mítica sala...
