Formed in Minneapolis in 1999, Lateduster was originally an instrumental sextet called Cropduster, with a symmetrical lineup of two guitars, two full drum kits and two DJs on 4 turntables. Back before Brendan Canning was Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning, he was part of a number of other groups, one of them called... Cookie Duster. (Which is apparently a nickname for a mustache. The more you know, etc.) Canning and his fellow Cookie Dusters (sorry, it's fun to type out) have come together again for a new album, the first since they released their self-titled debut album over a decade ago.
