In the beginning A_liFe [DIVIDED] developed from a progressive rock project of Tony and Erik's called Cydonian. In 2002 the singer quit the band and Jürgen, a friend of Erik’s, was quickly invited in. As the style of the new group changed so did the name, and A_liFe [DIVIDED]...

The idea behind From Ashes to New, was to do something fresh and meaningful. By taking every kind of music that influences them, FATN is able to create a sound that is not only refreshing but also makes you feel as if you've known it all along. With songs geared toward everyday struggles and uplifting lyrics in the direction of self betterment; From Ashes to New looks to capture the attention of listeners from all walks of music. Ashes Remain is known for their unique blend of straight forward thundering modern rock, and mature song writing. In addition, Ashes Remain was voted "Best Band in Baltimore" by Hard Rock Cafe, and recieved the most votes in the country for the rolling rock battle of the bands in '04. .
