Audioslave - amerykańska grupa rockowa, założona w maju 2001. W skład formacji weszli: były wokalista zespołu Soundgarden - Chris Cornell oraz instrumentaliści zespołu Rage Against the Machine (Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, Tim Commerford, bez frontmana (Zack de la Rocha). Sponge to post-grunge'owa formacja z Detroit, Michigan. Zespoł powstał w 1991r ,a jego założycielami byli Vinnie Dombroski, Mike Cross oraz Joey Mazolla. Wszyscy dawniej byli członkami hard-rockowego zespołu Loudhouse. Na stanowisko basisty przyjęli brata Mike'a Cross'a - Tima Crossa. Perkusistą został Jimmy Paluzzi.
