The Subtitles formed in 2007 by 4 established musicians. National Songwriting Competition and singer-songwriter Kirk Penney with Maple Blues Nominee Darren "Boobie" Browne recruited Bryan Power (The Paranoids, Ruby's Babymaker) and Rebecca Cohoe (The Soft Intelligence)to create what has become "Newfoundland's Band to Watch in 2009" by the largest read publication in the province, "The Herald".
Since then they have played with the likes of Joel Plaskett, Bob Wiseman and the Novaks.

Born in L.A. in 1978, Giovanni Marks was destined for an interesting future to say the least. After moving around the county (spending an excessive time in Compton, Lynwood, Camarillo and Mid-City) he settled in the boisterous metropolis region in 1997. After several years and multiple releases, he took a year hiatus while working at Aron's Records.
