Historia zespołu z Katowic rozpoczęła się w 2008r. jak mówi wokalista Paweł Mroziński, z chęci grania muzyki, kontaktu z publicznością i oderwania się od szarej rzeczywistości. Niedługo po powstaniu skład debiutował na scenie katowickiego Spodka podczas „Rawa Blues Festiwalu”. Liberty to formacja grająca rocka o silnym podłożu, to sześciu nieogarniętych młodych muzyków starających się stworzyć własny świat dźwięków i rytmów. Skład zespołu zmieniał się jak w kalejdoskopie aż do teraz. The Liberty Ship's lead vocalist, songwriter and guitarist, Marc Elston, was one half of the superb late-80s/ early 90s indie pop noise duo Bulldozer Crash. Here he rounds up a full band and takes another shot at indie pop glory with a sound reminiscent of The Byrds. .
