Darren Benitez grew up surrounded by music. In his earliest years, he loved the sound of his mother and uncle’s voices. El Cortez is a trance project of two EDM producers/DJs Roger Pierre Shah (aka DJ Shah) and Thomas Godel (aka DJ Cosmo), both from Germany. They also produce music together under the alias 'Purple Mood'. For the 'El Cortez' alias, they have produced only one track so far (as of March 2008) - a melodic trance track called 'Desert Rose'. This was produced in 2006 and was included in Dutch trance producer/DJ Menno de Jong's first DJ mix compilation titled 'Menno de Jong Presents: Intuition Sessions Volume 1: South Africa'. Malteze was a brash female fronted melodic metal band with tons of attitude and fire. They released only one album through Active Records in 1990. The band consisted of Barbara Malteze on vocals and keyboards, Masami Fujimaki and Steve Cenker on guitars, Kriss Marxx on bass, and Mike Voss on percussion. .
