Shania Twain, to jeden z najlepszych przykładów muzycznego kopciuszka, nie miała nic, dziś ma wszystko. Urodziła się 28 sierpnia 1965r w małej miejscowości Timmins, w prowincji Ontario w Kanadzie. Ciężkie było dzieciństwo drugiego z pięciorga dzieci w rodzinie gdzie nie zawsze było co jeść. Brakowało pieniędzy, ale nigdy nie brakło muzyki w domu Edwards'ów. Tu należy wspomnieć, że Shania Twain naprawdę nazywa się Eilleen Regina Edwards. Rodzice szybko zorientowali się że Shania jest niezwykle utalentowana, już jako dziecko śpiewała, grała na gitarze, komponowała, pisała teksty. Następnie zaczęła się pojawiać w lokalnych mediach. Gathania to jedna z nowych piosenkarek ze stajni menedżerskiej Victorii Ekeberg, do której należą też September, Daniela czy Nexx. Podobnie jak reszta Gathania pochodzi ze Szwecji, a wypłynęła na szerokie wody dzięki szwedzkiej edycji „Idola” pokazywanej w tamtejszej TV 4. I mimo że Gathania ostatecznie nie wygrała programu, została zapamiętana i biznes muzyczny zainteresował się nią. Wkrótce po programie wokalistka ze Sztokholmu podpisała kontrakt z Victorią Ekeberg i umowę na wydanie płyty z wytwórnią Lemon Records. W styczniu 2009 kręciła we Wrocławiu swój pierwszy teledysk do singla "Get It Out". .
